Public Math Debate: What is the most amazing discovery about infinity?

Tuesday, April 23, 7 p.m., SH101/202

Infinity is one of the most powerful mathematical concepts ever discovered. Humankind has grappled with the idea of 'the infinite' for thousands of years, and attempts to precisely define 'infinity' have led to results that are both surprising and useful.  In this public debate, Carroll mathematics professors Dr. Kelly Cline and Dr. Ted Wendt will each make their argument for the most amazing discovery about infinity, and then the audience will vote on the winner. Please join us for this exciting public debate and learn about the mathematical concept of infinity!
