Join us for our annual Constitution Day event featuring a faculty panel discussion on Topics in Constitutional Studies, on Monday, September 15, 7:00 pm, in the Wiegand Auditorium/Simperman Hall.

Panelists & Talks:

  • Dr. Alex Street (Political Science): Germany and Constitutional Patriotism
    The German constitution, written in the 1940s under U.S. occupation, differs from the American model and has become a source of muted national pride.
     
  • Dr. Andrew Thomas (Business): Reforming Rational Basis
    An exploration of the shortcomings of the Rational Basis standard for economic regulation and proposals for reform.
     
  • Dr. DJ Cash (History): The Contested Constitution
    A reflection on how the Constitution was more controversial in its own time than many modern Americans realize.
