Presidential COVID-19 Update: November 11, 2020

Marching Back Update Graphic

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

Today is exactly two weeks from the end of the semester. Good luck as you continue to work on final projects, exams, and finishing strong.

COVID Cash: Get caught doing the right thing

Thanks to a partnership with the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce, we have launched the “COVID Cash” program. Every week until the end of the semester, faculty and staff will be looking for students doing their best to reduce the spread of COVID-19 on campus by wearing a mask, respecting social distancing, and practicing good hygiene. Those Saints will receive “COVID Cash" which is a chance to win one of three $50 gift cards (and other prizes) in a drawing every Friday. Many thanks to the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce for donating these gift cards and showing their support for Carroll College and our students.

Get tested before leaving for the holidays

All asymptomatic students, faculty and staff can still be tested at the Wellness Center:

  • Monday 9 am - 12 pm  and 1 pm - 4 pm

  • Tuesday 9 am - 12 pm

Testing will be available the Monday and Tuesday before the winter break, and based on our current turnaround times, students that test on Monday should have their results before they leave campus at the end of the day on Wednesday.

As a reminder about weekend testing, Carroll College students and employees who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms can be seen on weekends by Meredith Krutar, MSN, FNP-BC, FCP, NFPMC for a COVID-19 screening and to obtain an order for testing on the weekend at an offsite location.

On weekends, to make a remote appointment with Meredith to determine if you should receive a COVID-19 test, please go to:  https://mycatholicdoctor.com/cctesting/. This website will allow you to schedule a video consultation and obtain an order for COVID-19 testing, if needed.

These appointments will be available for limited hours on Saturdays and Sundays only. Carroll students and employees will not be charged for these services.

Planning for Spring 2021

The Marching Back team has learned a tremendous amount this fall and has begun the process of updating our Marching Back plan. Currently, the team is working on updating all of our policies and procedures and meeting to discuss specific areas where we can make improvements to the  plan. These areas include testing, serving students in isolation and quarantine, and much more.
If you have feedback, please email covid19@carroll.edu so that we can consider your comments as we prepare for spring. Faculty, staff, students, and parents will receive information about the updated plan in early December.

Thank you,

Carroll College Marching Back Task Force
