Saints in Service
The Financial Aid and Admission staff chose the Helena Area Habitat for Humanity as their winter service project this year.  The crew of 17 spent the afternoon painting a four bedroom, two bath home in East Helena.  Helena Area Habitat for Humanity builds simple, decent and affordable homes for families living in the Helena Area with low incomes.  This small act of kindness will bring much joy to a wonderful, deserving family this spring.
The Carroll Men’s Basketball team volunteered with the Salvation Army this week to pack Christmas season food boxes to be distributed to families in need throughout Lewis and Clark County. The team also helped transport toys from the US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program. “It’s so impressive to what [these organizations] are able to accomplish,” said Coach Carson Cunningham, “We’re grateful to be able to give back a little bit during the Christmas season.”
Saints in the News
There has been a spate of building projects on Carroll’s campus this year. The Helena IR recently visited campus to take a tour of the new buildings and remodeled spaces. Read about their visit here: Carroll College experiencing building boom
After 24 years as a Lewis & Clark County commissioner, Mike Murray ’64 made the decision not to file for re-election and instead make time for retirement with his wife, Helen ‘64. The Helena IR met with him a week before cleaning out his office for the last time. Here is the story: A constant in county government about to change
Alumni News
Carroll lost a true friend of the college when William “Bill” Joseph Lannan passed away on December 9, 2016. Bill was a 1954 graduate of Carroll and the college was always near and dear to his heart. Bill started Carroll's 3-2 engineering program while teaching in the engineering department and after a long career with the Guaranteed Student Loan Program, came back to Carroll to reestablish Carroll's golf program, serving as coach until his retirement.  Bill and his wife, Gayle, were faithful fans of Carroll athletics and fed many of our football players over the years.  Bill was always so proud to share that Carroll College was his alma mater and the college, in turn, was so proud of Bill and how eloquently he lived out our motto “Not for School, but for Life.”
