Carroll College is pleased to announce that it has hired Christopher Aimone, J.D., as Carroll’s new Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Aimone currently serves as Executive Director of Development and Senior Director of Planned Giving at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.
“We conducted a nationwide search and I was very pleased Chris was selected by the Search Advisory Committee as one of our finalists,” said Dr. John Cech, president of Carroll College. “I had the opportunity to visit with both his vice president and president and they both could not say enough about his outstanding work with donors, faculty, and staff at Rose-Hulman. Chris’ leadership and experience will be very helpful to Carroll as we move forward with fundraising initiatives to support and grow our academic and Catholic mission.”
Aimone has spent the entirety of his higher education development and fundraising career at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In nearly a decade of service at the Institute, he has risen progressively through the development division ranks. He began his tenure with the Institute in 2012 as the director of planned giving and throughout his various roles, he has been successful in securing average annual gifts of greater than $5,000,000 including approximately $8,000,000+ this past fiscal year ending on June 30. In addition to managing the Institute’s major gifts and planned giving programs including four gift officers, Aimone also oversees the work of the Institute’s corporate and foundation relations officer and a leadership annual giving coordinator providing him a broad range of experience across the spectrum of giving levels.
During his time at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, he has been a philanthropic leader who emphasizes greater collaboration and team trust across the overall development team with a donor-centric vision for engaging constituents. He has also been successful in engaging academic and staff leadership as well as Board of Trustee members in securing significant gifts for the institution.
“I am impressed with Chris’ relationship building skills with both donors and colleagues as is evidenced by his success at Rose-Hulman. His focus on building a more inclusive community across campus as well as with alumni will serve us extremely well at Carroll,” said Cech. “We have a generous and engaged alumni and donor base and I look forward to Chris enhancing those connections.”
Prior to his career in higher education, Aimone was a financial consultant with Smith Barney, Inc. for over nine years and was a practicing attorney whose areas of expertise included estates and trusts. Aimone earned his B.S. in Management with a Finance Option from Purdue University and his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law.
In Terre Haute, Aimone is active in his local Catholic parish and deanery grade school where his youngest son currently attends. He, along with his wife, Katie, and three children are looking forward to “their new adventure” with this move to Helena and engaging in their new community.
“I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity to play a significant role in building a sustainable advancement program at Carroll College,” said Aimone. “This is a wonderful campus community, and I am eager to be a part of it!”
Aimone will be filling the position currently held by Interim Director of Institutional Advancement Kathy Ramirez. Aimone’s official start date is October 25, 2021.
