About
From Helena to Houston, Ryan Wall ’14 has built a career rooted in leadership, innovation, and impact—all while staying grounded in the values he developed at Carroll College.
Ryan graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and began what would become a 13-year journey with Chevron. Throughout his career, he has taken on a variety of roles across Wyoming, Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana, steadily growing in responsibility and expertise. His work has spanned engineering, asset development, and now investment management.
Today, Ryan serves as an Investment Manager for Chevron New Energies, where he oversees a portfolio of technology investments. In this role, he contributes directly to the evolving energy landscape—helping deliver affordable, reliable, and lower carbon energy solutions that support communities around the world. He describes being part of the global energy transition as one of the most rewarding aspects of his career.
Ryan’s professional growth has also been shaped by continued learning. He earned his MBA from the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business and was selected to participate in Chevron’s Emerging Leaders Program, recognizing his potential and leadership within the organization.
While his career has taken him across the country, Ryan is now based in Houston with his wife and their two young children—a five-year-old daughter and a 7-month-old son. Family remains at the center of his life, balancing a demanding and impactful career.
Looking back, Ryan credits Carroll with laying the foundation for both his professional and personal success. The civil engineering program strengthened his analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, while the college’s mission instilled discipline, integrity, and a commitment to serving others.
One of the most meaningful parts of Ryan’s time at Carroll was Engineers Without Borders, which gave him the opportunity to see engineering as both an adventure and a form of service. It was a chance to step beyond the classroom, learn through real-world challenges, and better understand how technical problem-solving can make a tangible difference in the lives of people around the world. The experience reflected the foundation Carroll helped build in him—not only strong engineering skills, but also the moral perspective to use those skills with humility, compassion, and a sense of responsibility to others.
Ryan’s journey is a powerful example of how a Carroll education prepares graduates to lead with purpose and adapt in a rapidly changing world.
