About
Rosie (Ramirez) Kraft, a proud 2024 graduate of Carroll College with a degree in Secondary Science Education, has carried her love of learning and community into the next chapter of her life. She is now in her second year teaching 8th Grade Science at East Valley Middle School in East Helena. Life has a special way of coming full circle—she gets to work alongside her husband, Duncan, who teaches History at the same school. The two were married the summer after graduation, adopted a lively puppy named Soka, and have embraced a life filled with both adventure and purpose. When they’re not in the classroom or coaching, you can find them outside fishing, skiing, or hiking with Soka. To top it all off, they’re in the exciting process of buying their first home together.
Looking back on her college years, Rosie’s heart immediately goes to her time on the cheer team. Cheering at games—especially when Duncan was playing football—was one of the most special experiences of her time at Carroll. Those moments are still deeply cherished, a reminder of how vibrant and connected campus life felt.
Rosie also carries with her the lessons and encouragement of her cheer coaches, especially Alex, who believed in her potential and helped her grow into a strong and confident leader. That support instilled a lasting confidence that continues to shape her today.
Since graduating, Rosie is most proud of the life she and Duncan are building together—achieving milestones, setting goals, and dreaming bigger for the future. Reflecting on her college years, her advice to today’s students is simple but heartfelt: soak in every second. “College is so special because you get to live with your best friends and be involved in your activities and sports with ultimately very little other responsibility,” she says. “It goes by so much faster than you think, so make the most of it!”
If she had to sum up her Carroll experience in just three words, Rosie would say it was “cherished beyond measure.”
For Rosie, being an alum of Carroll means being part of something bigger than herself. The Carroll community is more than just a network; it’s a family. “Saints truly take care of each other for life,” she shares. “I’m so blessed to be part of it.”
