VA Certification Application

This application covers the 2021-2022 academic year. Applications are due in the Financial Aid Office by the beginning of FALL semester. Late applications will be processed, but may delay payment of benefits.

  • If you withdraw from or stop attending classes, you will be required to pay back the tuition and fees for those classes to the VA. DO NOT withdraw from any class or classes without talking to Brandy Keely, VA Certifying Official, in the Registrar’s Office regarding the amount you will have to pay back to the VA. If you change your schedule, you MUST notify Brandy.
  •  You should be aware that the ultimate responsibility for the payment of tuition and fees is YOUR responsibility. In order to accommodate those students who have also accepted federal aid, Carroll ESTIMATES the amount the VA will pay and posts it on your billing statement, when the ACTUAL funds arrive amounts MAY be adjusted. You will not be allowed to register for any further semesters until all your financial obligations to the college for the current semester, are met.
  • Your housing and book stipend is paid directly to you. Therefore, you are responsible for making payment arrangements with the business office for those charges. Be aware it may take 4-6 weeks before you start to receive these funds. You will need to pre-plan for the purchase of books.
  • You must submit your most recent Award Three Letter at the end of each semester. This will allow the Financial Aid Office to know how many days and months you have left of eligibility.
