Hazelbaker serves as the Vice President of Enrollment Management & Marketing, where he is responsible for the enrollment, admission, financial aid, public relations, and marketing areas of the college.

Hazelbaker has worked for eighteen years in higher education primarily in marketing and communication roles with a strong emphasis on strategic enrollment management. Hazelbaker last served as the Chief Communications Officer at Clark College in Vancouver, WA, where he was responsible for the public relations, marketing, and legislative affairs of the college with a focus on student enrollment and fundraising. Clark College is the second largest community college in Washington serving over 10,000 students each year.

One of his first positions was the Marketing Director for Montana State University-Billings where he was tasked with establishing the first marketing office at MSU-B under the direction of the Chancellor. In addition, he has experience in Catholic higher education having worked at the University of St. Thomas (MN) as both Director of Communications and Interim Director of Graduate Marketing. During his time at Clark, the college has become well known for their creative approach to marketing having been nominated for a Regional Emmy in 2017 and having a social media campaign featured in the report "The Shifting Enrollment Landscape" published by the Educational Advisory Board.

Hazelbaker earned his B.A. at Rocky Mountain College, his M.A. at Crown College and holds a doctorate in Organization Development from the University of St. Thomas (MN). He has served as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate and graduate level and continues to be involved in organization development by writing articles, consulting, and participating in professional activities.

"I believe Carroll’s mission perfectly encapsulates the Catholic intellectual tradition and provides students with the ideal framework to explore and decide on the difficult situations of the day,” Hazelbaker said. “I’m looking forward to contributing to the campus and the community."

Hazelbaker’s two oldest children have graduated from college and his youngest is a senior in high school.  His wife Shari is an R.N. He has strong family ties in the area. He grew up in Deer Lodge where his dad was a coach and taught English. His great-grandfather, Theodore Brantley, was the longest serving Chief Justice on the Montana Supreme Court. His grandfather Theodore Hazelbaker and great-uncle Frank Hazelbaker were leaders in state politics for many years.
