Biography

Cassie earned her Bachelor of Arts with a major in International Studies (Latin America track) and a minor in Spanish from the University of Washington in 2005, graduating Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She went onto to earn a Master of Arts in Education with a higher education policy focus from Claremont Graduate University in 2011. Cassie was a proud member of the Husky women’s soccer team during her undergraduate career, earning First-Team Academic All-Conference honors her junior and senior year. During her graduate studies, she was a Bowen Institute Fellow and her master’s thesis was featured in Inside Higher Ed and the American RadioWorks podcast.  Cassie worked for eight years in admissions and academic advising at the University of Washington, Scripps College, and St. Mary’s College of Maryland before coming to Carroll College in 2013. She enjoys walking her dog Hutch (a Carroll graduate from the Anthrozoology program), gardening and quibbling over home improvement projects with her husband Eric Hall (Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Theology), and laughing with her two spirited young children.

Job Responsibilities

The Carroll College Registrar monitors compliance of academic policies and government regulations, conducts degree audits and graduation certification, facilitates Honors Convocation and Commencement, develops the College Catalog, determines athletic and activity eligibility, and serves on several College committees (see list below).  She is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and regulating the delivery of academic records, developing systems and processes for database and web-based information and usage, and administering the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office.

Registrar is also expected to keep abreast of current trends and initiatives in higher education, particularly in the areas of records and registration; to facilitate database changes and conversions in the Colleague Student module; and to provide analytical problem solving and judgment in situations related to academic policies, curriculum, and student records. She also oversees the Registrar’s Office and Graduation budgets.

The Registrar serves on the following College committees and governing bodies:
