Director of Career Services

Wes is the Director of Career Services and manages the college's academic internship opportunities, professional events, employer relations, and helping to prepare students for the career search, interview, and negotiation processes. Wes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Johnson & Wales University (JWU) and a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Public Policy from the University of Denver. His career has spanned working for the international wealth management firm AXA Advisors – where he created a district-wide internship program, to Admissions with JWU, pathways program management with the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, a multitude of responsibilities with Student Assistance Foundation, and Financial Aid at Helena College.

Wes' passion is guiding students through their educational experiences to ensure the most opportunities possible were taken advantage of. Because of his dedication to student development, he was named to the Helena Independent Record's 2021 20 Under 40 business profession award list.

In his personal time, Wes enjoys spending time with his wife, sons, and family outdoors throughout Big Sky Country.

Wes works with students to guide them through professional job interviewing, crafting superb resumes and cover letters, searching for the right career fit, applying to graduate school, networking with professionals, navigating nationally competitive scholarships, and much more. He also works with faculty to provide professional guidance to students through classwork and guest speaking.

Wes is available to help students individually develop their resumes, cover letters, and interviewing skills and to aid students to determine career direction at their convenience. They can schedule an appointment through their Handshake account.
