Pre-Occupational Therapy Program
Admission requirements for occupational therapy programs vary from program to program and students should check individual graduate schools for specific information about their program pre-requisites. Students must review these pre-requisites to ensure they are taking the necessary courses that can be completed as part of their academic program at Carroll.
Program Requirements
After a review of several occupational therapy graduate programs, the following courses were often required.
- CH 101-CH 102 Gen Chemistry with Lab (2 semesters)
- BI 201-BI 202 AP with Lab (2 semesters)
- BI 171-BI 172 Biological Principles with Lab (2 semesters)
- PHYS 201-PHYS 202 Physics with Lab (2 semesters)
- MA 207 Statistics or MA 315 Probability and Statistics
- PSY 105 General Psychology
- Communications
- English/Writing
- Medical Terminology
Some graduate schools were also looking for:
- BI 281 Genetics
- CH 353 Biochemistry
- CH 301-CH 302 Organic Chemistry with Lab (2 semesters)
- MA 121 and MA 122 Differential Equations and Integral Calculus or MA 131 Calculus
- Several psychology courses, especially General Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Abnormal Psychology
- Anthropology/Sociology courses
- Kinesiology
- Ethics
- Fine Arts, specifically studio/ performing arts such as visual arts, theater, music, or dance
