The health, safety and well-being, both physical and mental, of our student-athletes, staff and Carroll community is our first responsibility. Carroll’s Athletics’ policies will apply irrespective of vaccination status. The PE Center will remain locked at all times until further notice. Everyone entering the PE Center (students, employees, and guests) must do so through the north lobby doors, where there is a check-in station. The check-in station will follow the guidelines in the Athletic Building Screening Procedures for taking temperatures and a symptom check for all entering individuals.
Practices and Workouts
The gym and weight room will be open with limited capacity and enhanced cleaning requirements that are outlined in the Athletics’ Weight Room Reopening and Carroll College Gymnasium/Drill Court Reopening/Hitting Room Procedures. Copies of all COVID-19 related Athletic policies may be obtained from the Director of Athletics.
Locker rooms will remain closed through Phase 1. In Phase 2, the locker rooms will reopen and the weight room will increase to 75% of capacity as long as social distancing can still be met. The Gym capacity will increase to 50 people and the Drill Court will increase to 30 people max. Athletic undergarments must be laundered after each practice following manufacturer’s instructions and equipment (i.e. helmets, shoulder pads, etc.) must be wiped down daily. Under our Phase 3 plan, locker rooms will resume normal operations while continuing enhanced cleaning and modified social distancing measures. In an effort to protect our community, we are highly recommending that all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, wear face coverings while in public indoor spaces on campus if they are able to do so.
Athletic policies will remain consistent with College travel policies.
Sports Practice & Competition
The Carroll College Athletic Department will review the NCAA/NAIA, Frontier Conference and the Cascade Collegiate Conference directives and guidelines for all sports in regards to practice and competition. Carroll College does not control policies set by the NCAA/NAIA, Frontier Conference, or the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Spectators & Season Tickets
Under Phase 1, all athletic activity and competition are cancelled. Under Phase 2, the Athletic Department will work with the Lewis & Clark County Health Department on a plan to see if and when spectators will be allowed at home games. Under Phase 3, the Athletic Department anticipates allowing spectators at home events and we are highly recommending that all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, wear face coverings while in public indoor spaces on campus if they are able to do so.
Summer Sports Camps
The Athletic Department will follow their detailed Summer Camp Policies and Procedures to protect the health and safety of all campers and employees. No overnight camps will be hosted through Phase 2. All social distancing and personal hygiene measures will be followed per phase, irrespective of vaccination status.
