Athletics

The health, safety and well-being, both physical and mental, of our student-athletes, staff and Carroll community is our first responsibility. The PE Center will remain locked at all times until further notice. Everyone entering the PE Center (students, employees, and guests) must do so through the north lobby doors, where there is a check-in station. The check-in station will follow the guidelines in the Athletic Building Screening Procedures for taking temperatures and a symptom check for all entering individuals.

Practices and Workouts

The gym and weight room will be open with limited capacity and enhanced cleaning requirements that are outlined in the Athletics’ Weight Room Reopening and Carroll College Gymnasium/Drill Court Reopening/Hitting Room Procedures. Copies of all COVID-19 related Athletic polices may be obtained from the Director of Athletics. They include:

Locker rooms will remain closed through Phase 1. In Phase 2, the locker rooms will reopen and the weight room will increase to 75% of capacity as long as social distancing can still be met. The Gym capacity will increase to 50 people and the Drill Court will increase to 30 people max. Athletic undergarments must be laundered after each practice following manufacturer’s instructions and equipment (i.e. helmets, shoulder pads, etc.) must be wiped down daily.

Season Tickets

Letters will be sent to season ticket holders with a notice that seats will not be assigned until the Athletic Department can draft facility social distancing policies consistent with Lewis and Clark County Health Department guidelines. The PE Center will start to open to the public for ticket sales starting June 22nd.

Off-Campus Recruiting

Athletic policies will remain consistent with College travel policies.

Saints Athletic Association

Membership drive begins June 1st. The Saints Summer Soiree event is tentatively scheduled for August 14th and will only take place if the Governor has moved the State into Phase 3 and if the requirements allow for the size of the event.

Athletic Sponsorship

Off-campus meetings being scheduled June 1st for renewals.

Summer Sports Camps

The Athletic Department will follow their detailed 2020 Summer Camp Policies and Procedures to ensure the health and safety of all campers and employees. No overnight camps will be hosted. All social distancing and personal hygiene measures will be followed per phase.

Fall Sports

The Carroll College Athletic Department will review and follow the NCAA/NAIA directives and guidelines for all fall sports.  Student-athletes will start to return to campus on August 12th for pre-season practices.  The complete Return to Practice Plan at this point and beyond, is a work in progress and will be developed as the NAIA, Frontier Conference and the Cascade Collegiate Conference provide direction about competition guidelines.
