Recruitment Partner Information

Working With Recruitment Partners

The Office of International Admission at Carroll College works closely with carefully selected educational agents around the world.  These agents and counsellors work with local students providing them information about US Universities and their academic programs, assisting with the application process, helping the students apply for the appropriate visas and assisting with the preparation of studying in the United States.

Agents are trained by Carroll regarding our academic programs, the campus culture and the application process. Our primary goal in working with our partners is to assist students in making the best choice for their academic future.

The Prospective Agent Review Committee meets four times a year to review prospective agent inquiries. We select agents that meet the College’s goals of recruiting with the highest ethical standards and meeting the diversity goals for the College.  Once a contract is in place, our office provides counsellor support and training, campus updates through newsletters and direct student support. Carroll is a member of the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) and gives priority to recruitment agencies that have been certified through this association.

American International Recruitment Councel (AIRC) Institutional Member Logo The American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) is a membership association of accredited US post-secondary institutions and certified student recruitment agencies which develops standards of ethical practice and provides a certification framework for agencies engaged in student recruitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  How do I become a recruitment partner for Carroll College?

We have a very selective process and only work with a few partners in each region.  The first step is to contact Kaycee Ransom at intl@carroll.edu.  A committee will assess your inquiry and conduct reference checks before making a decision.   The committee meets 4 times a year.

2.  Do you compensate agents?

Yes, adhering to the NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice (SPGP), Carroll works with agents who ensure that they represent us with accountability, transparency and integrity.  Carroll compensates agents based on the price of tuition and fees paid by a student for the first two semesters.

3.  Do you waive the application fee for agents?

Carroll does not charge an application fee.  We encourage students to apply using our on-line application, but will also accept the Common Application or our paper application.

4.  Are the students who apply through my agency guaranteed admission to Carroll College or offered any special consideration?

We promise to give you the best service possible; however there is no special consideration for applications sent through agents.   Conditional admission is only granted if students are working with one of our approved English language partners.  Our admission policies are the same for all applicants.  We do provide regular communication and updates about your applicants and direct contacts to ask questions.

5.  Where will I-20's be sent and how are they shipped?

I-20’s will be sent to the agent’s address indicated on the cover letter of the application.  An email will be sent to inform you that the admission documents are completed and in the mail.  Our standard policy is to send documents through US International Priority Express Mail.  Please be aware that this service can take up to 2 weeks to reach some countries; packages can be tracked and a tracking number will be provided to you.  If you or the student prefers to receive admission materials faster, please be sure to include an additional US$75.00 courier fee along with the application.  When the courier fee is paid we will ship documents through FedEx and will email you with the tracking number.

6.  How long will it take to process my student’s application?

Completed applications generally take 2 – 3 days to process.  Should a student be admitted, the admission packet should be received within a week if the courier fee is paid, or about three weeks if not.

7.  Do you offer conditional admission to students who have not taken the TOEFL or IELTS?  What about students who do not meet your English requirements?

Yes, we offer conditional admission for any student who either has not taken the TOEFL exam or does not meet our minimum requirement of an 80 iBT for the TOEFL or 6.5 for the IELTS provided they are enrolled in one our approved ESL partner programs or by submitting official TOEFL or IELTS scores that meet our minimum requirements.  We require all score results to be sent to us directly from the testing agency.
