Current Service Opportunities
We are the Hunthausen Center for Peace and Justice, or CPJ for short: a student-run office that strives to promote the dignity of the human person through service. Now that you’re settling into your schedules, here are some awesome opportunities to get out and serve in our Helena Community!
The month of October is almost here and we’ve got three weekends of amazing service opportunities for you to dive into!
10/10: The Salvation Army just built a new wing at their main location and need help moving into their new food pantry space. This is a chance for us to give back to an organization that does a lot in our Helena area. Sign up to come next week!
10/17: Hopefully (as long as the weather cooperates), we will have some outdoor service options on the 17th at Benton Ave Cemetery and Helena Community Gardens. Stay tuned for more info!
10/24: Downtown Helena is hosting their annual Kid’s Fall Fest and they are going to need a few volunteers to help run the event smoothly. Additionally, Good Samaritan Thrift Store will be taking a large group of students to help organize donations.
As you can see, there are lots of spaces for us as students to be serving but also learning from what others are doing in our community. Sometimes the most impactful service we do is not always the most obvious, but it reaches others in ways we can’t even fathom!
P.S. CPJ Job Opportunity!
