The Hunthausen Activity Center offers free classes for anyone in the Carroll community to join! You can register for classes at the front desk!

Class Schedule for the Spring 2020

All classes are open and free to all students. Most classes start Jan 13 to Jan 17.

Monday

  • 4:00 p.m. - Open to All “Yoga” class with Sarah in HAC 118 (Starts Jan 27)
  • 5:30 p.m. - Open to All “Oula” Class with Micah in HAC 118
  • 6:00 p.m. - Self Defense Class with Nathan Dudley in HAC 117

This one workout will make you sweat. Moderate level of intensity combined with short high intensity intervals. We will mix it up with this class. Light weights will be used, plyometric movements, burpees (!!!), squats, pushups, and... you name it. Great music, motivational instructor and moves that will push you. Any level of fitness is encouraged to participate.

Get lean with this one hour total body workout. Targeting your core area and lower body, not to mention some arm workouts, back and plenty of push-ups. Your muscles will get a great workout and you will get a sweat guaranteed. Exercise equipment that will be used will be weights and your own body weight.

Oula® is a high-cardio, easy to learn, calorie burning, crazy-fun dance workout to Top 40 hits for people of all abilities. Classes are one epic hour of sweat, joy, and total inspiration! Oula® is Dancemania for the Soul! If you enjoy music, this class is for you!

Because Oula®’s focus is on “how you feel” rather than “how you look,” our participants experience the freedom of a non-judging environment and community. While participants come to class looking to burn calories, they leave feeling better about themselves. Participants experience transformation from the inside out, and embrace the philosophy that when you feel good, you look amazing!

OULA-Power is a 45 minute conditioning class that begins with an empowering warm up, followed some high energy cardio tracks to get the heart pumping, and then transitions into a series of conditioning tracks that focus on strengthening and toning using just our own body weight.  This class features moves from HIIT formats, pilates, yoga and dance conditioning classes, and is equally challenging and rewarding.  The music is carefully selected to inspire you to be bigger, better, faster, stronger!

This fun-loving Vinyasa-based yoga class is open to all, from beginners to practiced individuals.  Students will focus on connecting conscious breathing with a flow that covers basic yoga poses, techniques for breathing and relaxation, and is designed to supplement the life of a college student.

This class will cover topic such as:

  • Non physical self defense 
  • Situational recognition 
  • Predator identification 
  • Brain and nervous system responses to unfamiliar stress stimulus
  • Passive, Assertive, and Aggressive Physical Self Defense
