Technical Director, Adjunct Professor of Theatre
Stephen Seder is currently pursuing an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College in Port Townsend, WA. His studies splice and merge the technical art of interactive digital media design with theatrical performance. His current studies explore a holistic understanding of indigenous and decolonial art practices, and how they influence the greater world of theatre and design. He holds a BFA in Theatre with a specialization in Acting, and a BA in Media Arts from the University of Montana. While part of the School of Theatre Dance, Stephen was the Artistic Director of the University Players, a creative ensemble charged with the task of creating various theatrical experiences for the campus community.
Apart from his academic pursuits, Stephen has been a performer, company stage manager, and designer for the Illustrious Virginia City Players in Virginia City, MT for six years. Each summer Stephen delighted audiences by performing turn of the century melodrama, and vaudevillian style theatre in the hectic world of summer stock theatre. He has stage managed for the Myrna Loy Center, Helena Theatre Company, and Grandstreet Theatre in Helena, MT. Stephen has also worked for the Blue Slipper Theatre in Livingston, MT, and served as a visiting Technical Director for the Montana State University Billings Drama Committee. He worked for the Gateway Playhouse, in Bellport, NY, and served as a speech and debate coach for two years in the Helena Public School District.
Outside of theatre Stephen owns his own production company called SederMedia LLC where he creates short films, corporate promotions, and other videography services. He has also starred in a handful of feature length films including the recently produced, The Ballad of Lefty Brown by A24.
