LTC Christopher Wellman
Professor of Military Science
LTC Wellman was commissioned through the Loyola College ROTC program in his home state of Maryland in 2000. LTC Wellman has a Bachelor’s degree in History from Towson University, Maryland and a Master’s degree in International Relations from Webster University. His duty positions include Company Executive Officer and Tank Platoon Leader with C Co. 3rd Battalion 67th Armored Regiment with a deployment to Baqubah, Iraq in 2003. Commander of C Co. 3rd Battalion 67th Armored Regiment in Baghdad, Iraq 2006. He again was selected for command of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion 12th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, TX and Talil, Iraq from 2007-2009. Chris spent time training units as an Observer Controller Trainer at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA. before graduating from the US Army Command and General Staff College. Following that he served as the Battalion Operations Officer for 1st Battalion 5th Infantry Regiment and Brigade Executive Officer of the 1st Stryker Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, AK. Chris again deployed as a Military Advisor to OPM-SANG in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; most recently served as a Leadership Instructor at the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. LTC Wellman is married to the former Melissa Ann Kimble of White Hall Maryland with their children Madalyn, Nolan, and Brady.
Awards and citations include the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leafs, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leafs, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf, National Defense Service Medal, three Iraq Campaign Medals, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Three Meritorious Unit Citations, Army Service Ribbon and four Overseas Ribbons.
