Adjunct - Political Science

Tara Harris received her B.A. from Carroll College (Class of 2000) in Political Science and Business Administration – Management and her J.D. from University of Montana School of Law in 2003. She has taught Introduction to Constitutional Law since 2006 and previously coached the Moot Court Team from its inception in 2008 until its end in 2016. 

She has been a practicing trial attorney for the last 18 years. She dedicated more than ten years of her career to serving as a prosecutor for Lewis and Clark County. The last six of those years, she focused on crimes against children. 

In January 2015, Tara returned to private practice and on February 1, 2016 opened her own law practice, Harris Law Office. She now focuses on estate planning, probates, trust administration, guardianships, adoptions, small business planning, and general civil litigation.

Tara also serves an Advisory Board Member for the Children’s Alliance of Montana, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving outcomes statewide for children who have been sexually and physically abused.

When not working and volunteering, Tara and her husband can be found exploring the world through the eyes of their son, enjoying the outdoors, and visiting family near and far.
