Theatre: Mimeprov Show
Come join Carroll theatre for some fun and exciting mimeprov!
Mimeprov Comedy, Carroll's own Improv Comedy troupe will perform our last show of the (calendar) year on December 4 at 7 pm in the Flex Theatre. We are a group of seven current and former Carroll students who enjoy comedic wit combined with physicality through mime and love the thrill of making it all up on the spot. We love to have big audiences come ready with suggestions to give us. Our shows are family-friendly, and most importantly free!
Mimeprov is the brainchild of Michael "Mokey" McNeilly. Mokey worked professionally in Los Angeles for 17 years, and has been featured as a guest in TV shows like MacGyver and General Hospital. Mokey and his wife, Carroll's absolutely wonderful costumer, Nancy moved back to Helena and have fostered this community ever since. Mokey taught at Carroll and developed Mimeprov as a side-endeavor for students who truly took off in the Improvisation class. The goal is to create improv that uses Mokey's own form of mime "American Mime" developed with his company in Los Angeles. A more realistic and believable physicality, we want to take the audience's suggestions and make them real. Today mimeprov is a combination of "long form improv" and the shorter comedic games like those featured on Whose Line is it Anyway.
This event is free and open to the public.
