Math Debate: Mathematician Leonhard Euler

Thursday, February 21, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

On February 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Simperman Hall Weigand Amphitheatre, join us for our next public mathematics debate: "What is the greatest result of the mathematician Leonhard Euler?" Dr. Kelly Cline will take on Dr. Eric Sullivan.

Euler is widely recognized as one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century (and perhaps all time).  He was a master at all fields of mathematics, and his results have proved to be impactful in the theory of calculus, number theory, complex numbers, physics, graph theory, astronomy, and music theory.  The wikipedia page has a great synopsis of his life's work.

Join us for a lively and fun event with questions from the audience, and ending with a vote on the winner. The audience will vote for the winner. Join us for a free, fun and exciting event, but show up early - the place will be packed!
