Come watch the International Film “Who is Dayani Cristal?” and then take part in a panel discussion hosted by Headlights Participants. Admission is free with Carroll ID. Part of International Education Week 2018.

About the film

Deep in the sun-blistered Sonora desert beneath a cicada tree, Arizona border police discover a decomposing male body. Lifting a tattered T-shirt, they expose a tattoo that reads “Dayani Cristal.” Who is this person? What brought him here? How did he die? And who—or what—is Dayani Cristal? Following a team of dedicated staff from the Pima County Morgue in Arizona, director Marc Silver seeks to answer these questions and give this anonymous man an identity.

This screening is funded in part by Carroll College in celebration of International Education Week and in partnership with The Myrna Loy. This film is the second in a three film series on Immigration and Catholic Social Teaching organized by the Spanish and French Programs at Carroll College. Participants from the Carroll College Headlights trips to Texas and California will be guest panelists speaking briefly before the film about their experience meeting and working with immigrants and their families near the border US/Mexico border.
