Director of Facility Planning & Operations and Business Continuity

 

Reporting to the President, the Director has responsibility for strategic vision, planning, administrative, financial, and operational oversight of campus facilities, custodial, and grounds departments. The Director provides leadership for a wide range of College services and functions, including direct responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep, rehabilitation, and replacement of buildings, infrastructure, and utilities; capital planning, building design and project management, and construction and remodeling; and campus grounds, maintenance, and custodial services. Collaborative responsibilities include oversight of business continuity policies and procedures, contracts, insurance, legal, real estate, sustainability commitments, and campus master planning.  In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, the successful candidate will have proven leadership skills at the administrative level, proven ability to bring optimism and energy, demonstrated success in demonstrating leadership and collaboration in managing and motivating teams, innovative thinking, effective strategic planning skills, risk management experience, and sound financial acumen. Successful candidates will have closely related and extensive facilities management experience acquired through increasingly responsible administrative positions in a college/university or comparable environment of similar size and complexity. Candidates must have thorough and comprehensive knowledge of facilities planning, design and construction, facilities maintenance, deferred maintenance and capital renewal management, building design and operations, and utilities operation and management.
