COVID-19 Contact Tracer & Coordinator

Description: Carroll College, a Catholic liberal arts college located in Helena, is seeking a temporary, part time (20-30 hours/week), employee to assist with the college’s efforts to combat COVID-19 through effective, timely, and empathetic contact tracing and coordination of student. The Campus COVID-19 Contact Tracer & Coordinator is responsible for performing the initial interview of students with probable or confirmed COVID-19 infection to gather information necessary for contact tracing. These efforts are essential to ensure a safe environment through the isolation and quarantine of persons infected with, or exposed to, COVID-19.

This position will maintain contact with students diagnosed with COVID-19 and their close contacts, determine exposure, assess symptoms, refer for testing according to established protocols, provide them with instructions for isolation or quarantine and coordinate meals for on-campus students while in quarantine and isolation. The Campus COVID-19 Contact Tracer & Coordinator will maintain ongoing communication with contacts to assess symptoms, ensure compliance with quarantine and determine social support needs and/or handle reporting of issues that arise.   

This position will also assist with testing to include, performing and monitoring testing as well as delivering tests to Shodair as well as coordinate meals and delivery to students in quarantine and isolation.  This includes working with Sodexo to ensure the proper number of meals are prepared, finding volunteers to assist in meal delivery and coordinating volunteers at each meal to deliver to the appropriate rooms.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.  A Bachelor’s degree and Residential Campus experience is preferred.  Experience and education that demonstrates the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Superior skills in planning, organizing, time management, adaptability, and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Computer skills are necessary and should include the ability to access and navigate various databases and software programs following training.  Experience with Google Suite, including Gmail and Google Sheets, preferred.
  • Equally comfortable working individually and within a team environment that emphasizes cross-campus collaboration.
  • Desire to support students in high-stress situations.
  • Comfortable with regular phone-based communication.
  • Flexible schedule that allows for possible split-shifts (3-4 hours in the morning; 3-4 hours in the afternoon or evening).
