Minor in Social Media

Social media has not only changed the way we personally communicate and engage with the world around us, but also transformed how companies and organizations reach their prospective customers and supporters. At end of 2016 (source: Hootsuite 2017):

  • 2.8 billion people were using social media 
  • 83% of Americans had a social media account
  • 48% of Americans interacted with companies or institutions on at least one social media network 
  • 50 million businesses used Facebook Pages 

A minor or certificate in Social Media from Carroll College will prepare you to leverage social media to effectively create, implement, and analyze multi-channel communication strategies using the latest digital technology. 

You'll get hands-on experience applying evolving platforms and tecnologies to personal life, business development, and marketing through learning labs utilizing social media, social networking, and real-time publishing.

  • CO 250 Social Media & Communication
  • CS 202 Web Development

Plus one of the following:

  • CO 165 Fundamentals of TV and Film Production I: Writing for Film and TV
