She frequently is invited into many classes by Carroll College faculty members as a guest lecturer.
Rosie teaches a one-credit career exploration class (LAS 185) each semester to freshmen and sophomore students who need some guidance in selecting an academic major and making long-range career plans.
Rosie created a one-credit course entitled Job Search Boot Camp (LAS 485) each semester. The course is designed to provide senior students and forward-looking juniors with the necessary career management skills to effectively identify and compete for professional career opportunities. Activities covered in the course include principles, methods, and practice in achieving career goals with emphasis on: exploration of career opportunities in one's field, job market trends, identification of strengths, resume development, cover letter composition, mastering behavioral-style interviewing, salary and benefits negotiations, effective networking strategies, budgeting and personal finance issues, professional image, and the use of technology in achieving career goals. In response to a request from the Nursing department, she adapted the job search course to meet the specific needs of those students and offers a Job Search for Nursing Students course each spring semester.
Additionally, Rosie is available to help students individually develop their resumes, cover letters, and interviewing skills or to help students determine career direction. They can schedule an appointment through their Handshake account.
