Carroll College's Literary Magazine Colors is looking for your work! Photography: We are looking for a cover photo along with other photos to be published in Colors. With photos, please submit a short description, and if a person is in the shot, please include the model's name. Poetry/Lyrics: We are recommending 3-106 words per poem, but that is by no means a hard limit. You can submit multiple poems and/or lyrics. There is no set form (submit free verse, haikus, sonnets, villanelles, etc.) Our last email stated there were themes to follow, but those are just suggestive categories for inspiration; submit your work even if it doesn't fit the listed themes! Short Stories/Essays: We are recommending 500-1,200 words, but again that is by no means a hard limit. You can submit multiple short stories and/or essays. The Editors of Colors Online 5:00pm Sunday Night Mass Sunday Night Mass 01/31/2021 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm Beginning with Sunday, January 31, we will offer two masses at Carroll College each Sunday in All Saints Chapel, with one scheduled at 5:00 p.m. and the second at the traditional 8:00 p.m. time. This allows for safe social distancing and prevention of crowding in the chapel. Submit an essay or video, and log on that night to see if you are a winner of additional scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500. Carroll Campus Hunthausen Activity Center 4:30pm SURF Application Deadline SURF Application Deadline 02/26/2021 - 4:30pm to 5:00pm We will be holding a Digital SURF event this year on Friday, April 23. Researchers who are willing to participate will be posting videos of their presentations on the Library's Institutional Repository. The presentations will be organized on one central page so that students and faculty can come and view the videos they're interested in. The registration deadline is February 26, 2021. Register here!(link is external) Be sure to get your title and abstract approved by your research advisor before you apply. Presentations will be due by mid-April. SURF will be on April 23, 2021. Student Undergraduate Research Festival (SURF) The Student Undergraduate Research Festival (SURF) is a celebration of the research done by Carroll College students. The event occurs every April, and everyone is invited to attend. SURF is seen as the highlight of the year for all of the students doing research, and it is a wonderful opportunity for other Carroll students, Carroll faculty and staff members, and community members to see the amazing work done by our students.
