Theatre: The Hijabis

Theatre: The Hijabis graphic

02/17/2022 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm

Carroll Theatre presents The Hijabis by Rohina Malik.

Runs February 17-27, 2022. Best friends Maya, Nadia and Leen are doing their best to live their mid-20s dreams in the small town of Payneville, Illinois.  And while life after college isn’t what any of them expected, they remain united in their struggles by their love for ice cream, their penchant for laughter, and their commitment to wearing their hijabs as a reflection of their faithfulness to God. But when their local mosque is desecrated by other members of the Payneville community, how they choose to respond will change the course of their lives. Associate Professor Kim Shire will direct.

This production is part of a series of plays commissioned by Big Bridge Theatre Consortium on the topic of interfaith dialogue. In-person tickets | Online Tickets
