Solidarity Slam 2020
11/05/2020 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

The Senior English Capstone class at Carroll this semester invites you to participate in a poetry slam! Due to the pandemic our normal Literary Festival is cancelled. However, we still want to host something that shares the importance of English in the world, and we are eager to involve the Helena community! As a class, we decided that an event to raise our voices together is more important than ever.

What? Solidarity Slam 2020: Live Poetry Slam Performance OR Submitted Video
When? Nov. 5, 2020; 7-9 p.m.
Where? Livestream
Who? Individual or Collaborative Performance

We currently have permission from Carroll and Lewis & Clark County Health Department to have an in person event. We will be capping the number of people in the Flex Theatre, but anyone can watch the Live Stream. We are also fully prepared to host the event completely virtually if circumstances change and it is no longer safe to gather.

You can stay up to date on our event plans through our Carroll College English Department Facebook page. In the next month, we will be posting various videos and content that may help shape a discussion about spoken word, or help students create a poem to share!

You can still submit a video to the Solidarity Slam--until midnight on Wednesday, November 4.  Send it to

Win a PRIZE: 1st--$75, 2nd--$50, 3rd--$25.

*Go to the Carroll English Department Facebook page to view and vote for best performance from November 5-10.

Send submissions to:

In your email, be sure to include:
