Spring Headlights

Spring Headlights graphic

03/02/2019 (All day) to 03/09/2019 (All day)

Campus Ministry Headlights trips will be going to East Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO, and to Chicago, IL during spring break of 2018. The dates are March 2-9, 2019 and the cost is $325. These trips are opportunities to immerse yourself in an experience that will help you to better understand the realities and needs of people with economic, education, cultural and social challenges. Though there are three different trips, all trips will focus on an understanding of Catholic social teaching, a chance to meet people whose lives are dedicated to social justice, an opportunity to encounter people who live in the reality of poverty and homelessness, and also a chance to interact with immigrants.

Cost of the trip is $325 and the deadline for applying is January 30, 2019.

Reflection and prayer are also vital components of the trip. These trips are open to students of all faiths, because diversity in viewpoints allows us all to grow as a community. To learn more about the Headlights program visit our blog.

Service Dogs Presentation

Service Dogs Image

03/15/2019 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Service dogs are becoming more common in schools, workplaces and the general public.

Madie Sanford and Ali Hance, along with executive director of Dog Tag Buddies, DeeDe Baker, will be leading a talk on service dogs. Their agenda involves discussing service dog etiquette, proper service dog behavior, service dog laws, and how to identify fake service dogs.

Our presenters will provide participants with the necessary information to question students on campus with dogs, especially ones causing disruptions in class and other public settings.

What can you do as a student, educator or business owner to protect real service dog teams? You will learn service dog laws, etiquette and how a trained service animal should behave.

FOR MORE INFORMATION call (406) 690-9853 or email dbaker@dogtagbuddies.org, mslaton-sanford@carroll.edu, ahance@carroll.edu

This presentation is open to the community.
