01/06/2019 (All day) to 01/10/2019 (All day)

Over winter break, we will be traveling to Browning, MT for a Headlights Immersion experience. Participants will work with kids at the De La Salle Blackfeet school and spend time with De La Salle Christian Brothers and their volunteers learning about the Blackfeet culture and Catholic social teaching.

This trip will give participants an opportunity to be immersed in this culture and learn about ways in which poverty affects this community as well as to learn about the commitment of this community in offering a faith based education to children and the commitment of the Christian Brothers and teachers of the school.

Dates for the trip are Sunday, January 6th through Thursday, January 10th.

The cost of the trip is $175, which includes transportation, food, and a donation to the school.

Women's Retreat

 Women's Retreat graphic

01/25/2019 (All day) to 01/27/2019 (All day)

Women's Retreat is a great opportunity for the ladies on campus to gather in a beautiful place to explore how we as sisters in Christ can grow closer to God together. Cost is $45 dollars, and don't wait, because it fills up fast!

We have a great weekend planned (there's even an inner-tube hill, so pack those sledding clothes!), and we know that together with the beauty of the location and the great hearts that we have on campus, this retreat is ripe for some serious movement of the Spirit.

We will be taking time to play in the snow, discuss and reflect on specific topics pertinent to being a woman of Christ, and just having a relaxed time growing in relationship with God and each other. Make sure that you spread the word, because this year's retreat is going to be awesome!

We strongly encourage you to come prepared for all types of weather. That means winter boots, warm coats, snow pants, hats, mittens, scarves, warm sleeping bags, and fleece jammies...but go ahead and leave the flat iron and eye shadow at home! If there is any equipment you dont have (i.e. boots, warm sleeping bag) let us know and we will be on the look out to try and find some.

Men's Retreat

Women's Retreat graphic

01/25/2019 (All day) to 01/27/2019 (All day)

Men's retreat is a great opportunity for the men on campus to gather in an amazing place to discuss how we as men can grow closer to God together. This year's retreat will be held starting Friday, January 25th up at Legendary Lodge through Sunday, January 27th. Cost is $45 dollars, and don't wait, because it fills up fast!

We have all sorts of fun lined up for the weekend, and we know that together with the beauty of the lodge, and the great hearts that we have on campus, this retreat is ripe for some serious movement of the Spirit.

We will be taking time to hike and play in the snow, discuss and reflect on specific topics pertinent to being a man of Christ, and just having a grande ole' time. Make sure that you spread the word, because this year's retreat is going to be awesome!

Because the weather may be questionable, and we will be enjoying the outdoors to the fullest, we strongly encourage you to come prepared for all types of weather. That means winter boots, warm coats, snow pants, hats, mittens, scarves, warm sleeping bags, and cardigans...but seriously, dress warmer than you ever have. If there is any equipment you don't have (ie boots, warm sleeping bag) let us know and we will be on the look out to try and find you some.

Free workouts for Carroll ends

Photo of two women going to the gym - Free Workouts

01/27/2019 - 11:30pm to 11:45pm

Fit for a week... better yet, for a lifetime! Free workouts for students, faculty, and staffs starts Friday, January 18. Get fit!

Twice each school year, four fitness centers in town have agreed to let Carroll faculty, staff and students try out their facilities – for one week for free. Just show your Carroll ID and enjoy the gyms!

  • The YMCA
  • Fuel Fitness
  • Capital City Health Club
  • Crossroads Sports & Fitness

And, if you fall in love with one, they’ll be thrilled to provide you details on the Carroll College discounts for membership.

Starts Friday morning, Jan. 18, the end of week one of the semester, and ends Sunday night, January 29, nine days later. That’s two weekends to fall in love with working out. We picked Jan. 18 for a reason! Let's inaugurate ourselves! Get fit!

Eight days at the start of each semester to sample five wonderful local fitness clubs. Obviously you don’t need a gym to exercise, but when the snow falls…so do we. Swim, lift weights, row a boat, ride a bike, be elliptical, tread ’til you sweat, take a class! Or just stand around and flex your biceps, and bask in the chorus of "ooohs" and "ahhs."

Brought to you by your Carroll health and wellness committee.  Questions? Ask Brent, bnorthup@carroll.edu or (406) 459-2371.
