Campus Clean Up Day
04/24/2018 - 10:00am to 3:00pm
Please consider participating in the Second Annual Tom McCarvel Campus Clean Up Event and Lunch, named in honor of a recently retired Carroll employee and friend of the college, Tom McCarvel. For those who had the privilege of working with Tom you might remember how important it was to him to get our campus ready for Commencement. Students have requested to also help this year and Sodexo has generously agreed to provide lunch for the volunteers.
Please hold an hour or two on Tuesday, April 24 (rain date of April 26) between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to help pull weeds, pick up trash, and refresh mulch. Interested staff who wish to volunteer please seek permission to participate from your supervisor to ensure that all offices remain staffed appropriately.
Please sign up by April 18th so that the Grounds Department and Sodexo have adequate head counts.
04/10/2018 - 11:00am to 1:00pm

We Too Speak Out
04/24/2018 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Gender based violence can bring incredible trauma and long-term consequences for survivors. One tool for healing can be sharing, in safe way, the realities of such assaults with those in our community. In light of the recent news coverage about the pervasiveness of sexual harassment and sexual assault, the Gender Studies Program is organizing We Too Speak Out, a public reading of testimonials from survivors of sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and sexual violence. "Invisible" sexual crimes are normalized; this event will give voice to survivors among us in a way that can be supportive and still keep them safe.
Volunteers will read these anonymous testimonials at “We Too Speak Out.” Because these stories can be both hard to hear and hard to share, we will have a campus counselor at the event should the event “trigger” memories or feelings that you’d like help dealing with. Please, come out to listen to We Too Speak Out on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Upper Cube.
