Running Club Shoe Donation Graphic

04/24/2022 - 9:00am to 04/30/2022 - 4:00pm

Spring has officially sprung! And you know what that means - it's time for spring cleaning! If you have any old shoes that you no longer want to clog up your closet, toss them in the designated collection bins distributed throughout your dorm building! Running Club is collecting and donating any unwanted shoes to God's Love so that they can be reused by those who need them. This event will occur during the last week of April (4/24 - 4/30). Collection bins will be distributed throughout Guadalupe Hall, St. Charles, Borromeo, and Trinity. Clean-up will take place at the end of the day on 4/30.

And don't forget to join us on Fridays at 2 pm outside the HAC for a run in the great weather.

EWB: Drafting Hope

Drafting Hope Fundraiser

04/30/2022 - 12:00pm to 4:00pm

The Drafting Hope Fundraiser is intended to raise money for the Engineers Without Borders club so that the members can travel and help out in foreign countries.

The first chapter is our Uganda Chapter, which just finished drilling boreholes for the community members of Kawango so that they could have a sanitary water supply. Safe water practices were also taught to the people. The Uganda chapter is hoping to travel in August to start another project for the people of Kawango that furthers their health and safety.

The second chapter is our Guatemala chapter, which focuses on rebuilding the school La Asuncion in Santo Tomas La Unión after damage resulted from the earthquakes there.

With enough money from the fundraiser, students from the club will be able to travel to Uganda and Guatemala to continue to help the community members in these countries.

Come join the climbing community at Carroll College through a fun competition in which we will give prizes to encourage students to want to return and continue climbing.

ALL STUDENTS WELCOME - come challenge yourself to climb the best you can. There is no climbing experience necessary to compete, but it would be best if they had climbed before. We will have disciplines that are climbing related, top rope/lead and bouldering, as well as one that no climber has probably ever done, crate stacking.

Competitors can choose to compete in a single event or all three in the overall division.

Brought to you by CAMP and the Climbing Club.

Theatre: Maria and the Butterflies

Maria and the Butterflies graphic

04/21/2022 - 7:30pm to 9:30pm

HELENA – Carroll College Theatre is producing Maria and the Butterflies by Katherine Gee Perrone with score by Dana Cardon which runs April 21 through May 1, 2022. This world-premiere musical was commissioned by Carroll College Theatre to tell the story of Maria Sibylla Merian, a painter and scientist from the 1600s who studied and illustrated the metamorphosis of bugs and butterflies in Germany, The Netherlands, and South America. This hour-long musical tells the story of her life from age 13 until late in her life, and features puppets of insects, caterpillars, butterflies, and more to portray the process of metamorphosis which Maria helped to illuminate in a world where many still believed Aristotle’s theory that maggots sprung spontaneously from meat. The show will be entertaining for all ages, and is recommended particularly for elementary-aged children.

Carroll Theatre will host audiences for school day matinees as well as weekend performances for the public. Associate Professor Kim Shire is directing, Anna Milburn is music directing, and Amber Barnes is Associate Director. Tickets available now at
