10/18/2018 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm
On Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Carroll Campus Center, Dr. Geoffrey Anguyo, MD will be presenting Innovative and Sustainable Approaches to Community Health and Development: Experience from Kigezi Healthcare Foundation, Uganda.
Dr. Geoffrey Anguyo, MD, has worked in the rural village of Kabale, Uganda, for the past 25 years, working to find integrated solutions to what he sees as integrated problems -- Disease, Poverty and Ignorance. He founded KIHEFO (Kigezi Healthcare Foundation) through which he operates and HIV/AIDs clinic, a Maternal Health Clinic, a medical/dental clinic, and a nutrition clinic. He also works with scattered rural communities, to deliver outreach clinics to the many Ugandans who cannot travel into Kabale. He works closely with traditional healers to gain access to the most remote patients, and is a compelling speaker with innovative ideas.
