Theatre: The Laramie Project Dress Rehearsal

The Laramie Project Graphic

02/08/2018 - 7:30pm to 9:30pm

This dress rehearsal is open to Carroll faculty, staff and students - FREE! Show your ID at the door.

Our winter production this year (February 8-17) is Moises Kauffman and the Tectonic Theatre Project's The Laramie ProjectLocal actor and director, John Rausch will direct. This play centers on the 1998 hate crime that led to the death of University of Wyoming gay student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The play draws on hundreds of interviews conducted by the theatre company with inhabitants of the town, company members' own journal entries, and published news reports. More than sixty characters come to life with their varied perspectives in a series of short scenes based on this true story. We hope that this play will aid us in a continuing conversation about how to Erase Hate in the world.
