Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society

Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society for business students, was established to honor students who attained superior scholarship and achievements in business programs in schools and colleges with regional accreditation. Sigma Beta Delta signifies wisdom, honor, and pursuit of meaningful aspirations. To be inducted into the society, students must rank in the upper 20 percent of their junior, senior, or master's class and be recommended by faculty officers. Carroll College Student Selected for National Leadership Academy

Carroll College Business Department senior Mary Currin was among 25 participants selected to attend the Sigma Beta Delta Inaugural Leadership Academy in San Diego, California. Sigma Beta Delta invited each of its 265 chapters nationwide to nominate one candidate for consideration. At the academy, students designed a project that could use the potential of the Sigma Beta Delta network to positively impact humanity. Currin's team project was a plan for organ donor registration. Currin reported that "the leadership academy was a rewarding experience. The participants were from colleges around the country, and our assembly provided a range of diverse opinions on several issues facing our society. The focus of the leadership academy was on the opportunity networking offers as a tool for positive change."
