For the 2018 Fall Semester, Diversity in STEAM will be offering a $500 scholarship that is available to students entering a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) related field.
The Diversity in STEAM Magazine brings science, technology, education, mathematics, educational, business and employment opportunities to all minorities and diverse cultures. We firmly believe that in order to have a successful company, Diversity & Inclusion must be implemented in all departments. STEM and the arts are critical for our future and innovation. Diversity in STEAM Magazine brings you the best combinations of science and technology with arts, creativity and entrepreneurship.
Requirements
We would like you to tell your story in a brief narrative, starting with an introduction about who you are, your interests, and anything else you feel we should know about you. Then, please provide your entry in a 300-500 word essay about your college experience so far, and your future career plans in your respective STEAM related field. Graphic or creative presentations are welcome as well.
Judging Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates a genuine desire and goal of using the scholarship to advance in their field, and an overall passion for knowledge.

Deadline: The deadline for submitting essays is August 15, 2018.
You may send us your entry either as a link or attachment to your email. Include your name, mobile phone number and contact information in the email.
Eligibility
To be eligible for our scholarship contest, you must be: a legal US resident, and either a current (1) student at an accredited U.S.College or University, or (2) an undergraduate student who has applied or will apply to a U.S. College or University. Students with full academic scholarships are not eligible to enter this contest.
Proof of enrollment must be provided. We will accept digital scans of the following as a valid proof of enrollment via email attachment with your application:
- Unofficial transcript (Applicant may need to submit by mail, an un-opened copy of official transcripts if elected as a finalist).
- Letter from Admissions confirming deposit on school letterhead
- Official enrollment verification form.
- Acceptance letter on school letterhead.
Additionally, you must:
- Verify you have read and understand the Diversity in STEAM School Scholarship requirements.
- Submit a readable copy of your entry (only one entry per student is allowed).
- Submit a clear headshot no smaller than 300 pixels (width) of yourself. The image file must be in the following format .PNG or .JPG.
Your application must be emailed no later than the August 15, 2018 deadline. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Winner Notification
The winner will be notified by phone, email and/or U.S. mail after the judging has been completed.
Award Distribution
The $500 award will be paid to the winner by September 15, 2018. Students must provide proof of enrollment prior to disbursement of the award.
Fine Print
Submissions: All content and creative work become the property of Diversity in STEAM upon submission and may be re-posted or displayed online or through any media channels, in whole or part, without notification. When you send email communications to Diversity in STEAM, its agents and/or representatives may retain those communications.
By submitting an application, the applicant grants Diversity in STEAM, its agents and/or representatives permission to post the applicant’s name, school or university, applicant’s photo, and the winning entry in the company’s website: www.diversityinsteam.com and in other marketing platforms, including but not limited to blog, social media accounts, and related sites. The winning applicant also agrees to assist Diversity in STEAM and its agents with any tasks that the company deems reasonable or necessary to help with the above and other promotional activities.
