The authors of the winning submissions will receive a money prize plus a possibility for a job offer. Scholarships will be awarded to 1-3 most promising game design ideas.
To be eligible for receiving a video game design scholarship, applicants must:
- Be students or young game design specialists, that aim to pursue a career in the game industry
- Submit work using a form at the bottom of this page before the deadline
A submission must include:
- About the author, short bio, and contact details
- Game idea concept
- Game genre and setting
- Gameplay, core game mechanics description
- Players audience description
Nice-to-have sections:
- Similar games, competitive analysis
- Main plot and characters, if any
- Game flow
- Characters and/or environment concept art
- Monetization ideas
- System requirements
- Prototypes
- Menus, maps, illustrations, and anything else that the author needs to better present the idea
The Evaluation process:
Submissions for the student game design scholarship will be reviewed by Room 8 Studio’s committee. The committee of the scholarship for game design will assess the originality of the idea, overall concept, and how well the idea is presented.
After the winning submission is selected, we will contact the winner of the scholarship for video game design with further details.
