Medical Outreach in Mexico
Six Carroll pre-med students and three Carroll alumni – two doctors and one nurse practitioner – boarded a plane the day after graduation to be part of Carroll’s very first medical outreach clinic to the Santa Maria del Mexicano orphanage in Colon, Mexico. In one week, these six students and three alumni medical practitioners held a pediatric medical clinic, and saw over 250 students, ranging in age from 4 to 21.
In its second year of funding from the Apgar Foundation, Carroll’s Constitutional Studies program was awarded $25,000 to support programming during the 2016-17 academic year entitled, "Executive Authority and Constitutional Government." Similar to this past year’s program, “Constitutionalism, Ancient and Modern,” next year's program will feature student fellowships, essay and speech contests, and numerous lectures and debates.

Bishop Gilmore Memorial Award for Outstanding Scholarship
Eight students were recognized for their stellar scholastic achievement during the commencement ceremony on May 14. The Bishop Gilmore Memorial Award for Outstanding Scholarship is inscribed with the names of the seniors who have attained the highest grade-point average after four years at Carroll. The following students received the award this year: Stephanie Christensen from Helena, Mont.; Hanna Dotson from Clarkston, Wash.; Katelyn Friedt from Eagle, Idaho; Amelia Menke from Helena, Mont.; Victoria Nickol from Helena, Mont.; Albert Olszewski from Kalispell, Mont.; Emma Russell from Townsend, Mont.; and Dallas VanLuchene from Conrad, Mont.

This event, taught by Carroll faculty, provides 7 OPI-approved units and is free to teachers thanks to support from Carroll College and the Apgar Foundation. Relay for Life of Helena, June 17, 6 p.m.–midnight, Nelson Stadium, Carroll College
Carroll College is hosting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life this year. Participants will walk around the football field in Nelson Stadium from 6 p.m. until midnight to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much.
RLF is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and those interested in forming teams and participating in the event are encouraged to sign up on the Relay for Life of Helena webpage.
Basketball Banquet & Coaches Clinic with Special Guest, Dan Dakich, ESPN analyst and radio host, June 25-26, Carroll College
Former NCAA player, coach and current ESPN analyst and radio host, Dan Dakich will headline the third Carroll College men's basketball coaching clinic and dinner slated for Saturday and Sunday June 25-26 on campus at Carroll College.
Dakich is a lead college basketball analyst for ESPN TV and host of the Dan Dakich Show on ESPN 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis. Learn more here.

The banquet will feature Dan Dakich, former player and coach and current radio host and ESPN analyst, as the keynote speaker. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow. Tickets are $50 per person or $90 per couple.
Coaches Clinic, June 25, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Carroll College PE Center
Dan Dakich will be the keynote speaker at the coaching clinic. The clinic will also feature Montana State head coach Brian Fish, National High School Basketball Coach of the Year finalist Terry Thomas of Dillon and Carroll head coach Carson Cunningham. The cost of the clinic is $20 per person or $50 per coaching staff.

The Gifted Institute will challenge gifted fifth through ninth grade students' academic potentials and provide opportunities for social development. Workshops, classes, and activities with adults and peers will enhance students' self-awareness and cognitive development.

Symphony Under the Stars – BROADWAY!, July 16, 8:30 p.m.-11 p.m., Carroll College Lawn
Carroll College and the Helena Symphony continue their collaboration for the 13th annual Symphony Under the Stars concert event and fireworks show. Considered the largest summer event in Montana, the much-anticipated Symphony Under the Stars attracts well over 15,000 people from all over the state of Montana and beyond.
This year’s concert will be bringing BROADWAY! to the Big Sky, with award-winning and Tony-nominated Broadway stars Doug LaBrecque and Christiane Noll. Together with the Helena Symphony Orchestra, they will be performing favorite songs from classic and contemporary Broadway's greatest shows. One of Montana’s best fireworks shows, sponsored by the Helena Community Credit Union, will close out the concert.
The concert, held on the Guad Hill and lawn on the campus of Carroll College, is free and open to the public for those spreading a blanket on the lawn. A limited number of reserved chairs in front of the stage are available to purchase online at www.helenasymphony.org. Tickets (limit of 8) may also be purchased by phone at 406-442-1860, or in person at the Symphony Box Office at 2 N. Last Chance Gulch.
