Exchange Students Explore Yellowstone

Exchange students pose in front of Yellowstone National Park sign

Over the first weekend of October, Director of the Artaza Center Cheri Long took a group of international exchange students to Yellowstone National Park. The students, who are at Carroll for either a semester or a year, were from Zimbabwe, Cambodia and Japan.

They spent two days visiting Boiling River, Mammoth Hot Springs, Artists’ Point overlooking the Canyon and Falls, and Old Faithful Geyser Basin. For many students this was their first picnic, snowball fight (quite a storm on top of Dunraven Pass), and sleeping in a sleeping bag.  They spent the night at the Yellowstone Studies Center in West Yellowstone, and they tried bison burgers for dinner at the Slippery Otter Pub. Their timing on this adventure was perfect – they saw Castle Geyser, Grotto Geyser, Grand Geyser, Riverside Geyser, Beehive Geyser and Old Faithful all erupt!
