The Gilman Program allows more American undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds to study and intern abroad in more diverse locations, thereby increasing their global career readiness and contributing to our national security and economic prosperity.

I want to thank everybody for the recognition regarding the Gilman Scholarship. Being a recipient of this prestigious award is an honor and a blessing, and I know I would not have been able to achieve the award if it had not been for the faculty and professors of Carroll College,” said Rachel.  “I want to especially thank Dr. Hallows and Dr. Satre who set their time aside for me when I reached out to them for help. I want to thank Mrs. Long who helped me with every tedious step of the Gilman application process, Mrs. Ackeret my coordinator for my study abroad program in Morocco, Mrs. Keely who has worked directly with veteran affairs, so I may study at a foreign institution, and Dr. Gupta who has provided continuous support throughout my semester. I want to thank Carroll’s other Gilman recipients Hailey Kellum and Cierra Powell who also graciously devoted their time to help me. Finally, I want to thank my sister, Rebecca, and dearest friends Cody and Hailey for their loving support because without them I would not be where I am today.”
