Carroll College COVID-19 Update: March 19, 2020

Carroll College COVID-19 Update graphic

Hello Students!

My hope is to reach out to you as often as possible with updates that pertain to you. We are engaged in on-going conversations and continuing to make decisions as new information becomes available, which lately, as you know, has been daily and even hourly!

A few updates for you this evening:

  • If you choose to go home/leave campus, please know that even if classes resume on campus after Easter, students who wish to remain at home will be able to access classes remotely for the duration of the semester. If you plan to stay home for the semester, you may choose to work with Residential Life & Housing to complete a full checkout of your residence hall room before you leave campus. If you have already left campus, we will have more information about check-out options in the coming weeks.

  • If you choose to remain on campus:

    • The Lewis & Clark County Health Department has extended its directive that food establishments are closed for dine-in through the end of the month. As such, Sodexo will continue to serve meals take-out and/or grab-and-go style for the foreseeable future. In addition, the HAC will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

    • Please continue to use good judgement on having visitors in your room and continue to engage in social distancing by maintaining 6-feet of distance between each other, and having no more than 10 people in a location. If a gathering is unable to maintain these social distance guidelines, please do not participate in it.

    • Upcoming: We are discussing moving the residence halls to card access only, meaning that students would have access to the residence halls using their Carroll ID, but entrance doors will be locked. More information will be shared on this next week.

  • If you haven't done so already, please complete the Housing Intention Form as soon as possible! If you have already submitted the form but your plans have changed, simply email studentlife@carroll.edu and we will update our records. If you are unsure whether you have submitted the form, please send an email to studentlife@carroll.edu

  • Lastly, if you are struggling as a result of social distancing and/or anxiety related to unknowns right now, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Wellness Center. Our counselors will continue to meet with students throughout the semester, and actually most appointments will be moving to Zoom so you will be able to access our counseling services, even from a distance. Call 406.447.5441 to set up an appointment.

Please continue to check email and the COVID-19 website for updates. We have also developed a list of Frequently Asked Questions. If you have a question, check out the FAQ page first to see if the answer is already out there for you!

Grace & Peace,

Beth Groman
