Carroll College COVID-19 Update: April 2, 2020

COVID 19 Update Graphic

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

Welcome to our bi-weekly correspondence to keep you updated and informed of Carroll College’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Out-of-State and Easter Travel
In light of the Governor’s directive that individuals traveling to Montana from another state are required to self-quarantine for 14 days or for the duration of their trip to Montana, whichever is shorter, we spoke with the Lewis & Clark County Health Department to confirm travel for students planning to move home within the next two weeks.

  • If you are planning to move home and your parent(s) are planning to come to campus from out of state, they may do so as it is considered "essential travel." We ask that, in order to minimize possible virus spread, all packing and loading be done as quickly as possible so that you are able to depart from campus as quickly as possible.

  • If you are thinking of leaving campus for a weekend trip and/or for the Easter holiday, and your plans would take you out of state, please reconsider unless you intend to remain at that location for the foreseeable future.

  • If you leave the state of Montana and then return to Carroll, you must self-quarantine for 14 days. Self-quarantine means you do not leave your room and you have no visitors. As such, please do not leave the state of Montana and then return to Carroll.

  • If you have already left campus and need to return to pack and checkout, you will need to wait until this most recent directive expires. Please work with your RA and Residential Life & Housing to schedule a time to return to campus.

This policy also applies to faculty and staff. If you leave the state over the weekend or for the Easter holiday, you will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon your return.

Guest Policy in the Residence Halls
For the duration of the Governor’s Stay at Home directive, students who are living on campus at Carroll College should not have any visitors in their residential space. Please be considerate of those around you, including all your -mates (i.e. floor-mates, roommates, suite-mates, and apartment-mates) and do not invite others into your living area in an effort to reduce possible exposure and virus spread.

Meals During Easter Weekend
For students who will be remaining on campus for Easter weekend, Sodexo will be providing meals Friday through Monday. Grab and go meals will be provided for brunch and dinner on April 10-13.

Access Voicemail Remotely
For faculty and staff working remotely, the following are instructions to access your Carroll College telephone system voicemail messages from an outside line. Dial your Carroll College phone number. When you hear the beginning of your voicemail recorded greeting, press the # key three times. You will be prompted for your extension and then your password after which you will be able to retrieve your voicemail.

Mass Delivered via Live-streaming
Each Sunday at 8 pm, Fr Marc Lenneman will say Mass from All Saints Chapel which will be delivered to the campus community and beyond via live stream on our YouTube channel.

Please remember updates and additional information continue to be posted to our COVID-19 website and any questions you have can be directed to the covid19@carroll.edu account.

We continue to be impressed with your adaptability and resiliency. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful community.   Blessings to each of you and please stay healthy!
