Ticket Information for 2020 Commencement
Due to fire code regulations at the Carroll P.E. Center, guest tickets will be required for the 2020 Commencement ceremony. Graduating seniors do not need a ticket for themselves. All tickets are free and they are not required for children under two. Doors to the P.E. Center will open promptly at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2020, and seating preference is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Commencement tickets (8 tickets each graduate) and Baccalaureate tickets (2 each graduate) will be distributed at cap and gown pick-up. Students who need more tickets or will not be using all of their guest tickets are encouraged to use Carroll Classifieds on My Carroll to offer or request tickets from those not using all of their allotted number.
An overflow viewing area for Commencement will be available in the new Hunthausen Activity Center, just adjacent to the P.E. Center, where the Commencement ceremony will be broadcast via live webcast. In addition, the ceremony will be available online. Details and the online viewing link will be posted on this Commencement webpage as soon as they are available. The Cathedral will also offer an overflow viewing area for Baccalaureate - see below for more information.
Cap and Gown Distribution
Wednesday, May 6, 2020 |10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Thursday, May 7, 2020 |9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
O'Connell Hall Lobby & Conference Rooms
Pick up your cap, gown, hood, Baccalaureate tickets, Commencement tickets, brunch tickets, and line-up number. At this time, you may bring items for the class time capsule. Smaller mementos like your ID cards, nametags, and photos are best because space is limited.
Be sure you have submitted your graduate survey, completed your financial aid exit interview and cleared all bills (parking tickets, library fines, Wellness Center charges, student account payments, etc.) beforehand.
Friday, May 8, 2020 |1:00 PM, PE Center
Come learn all of the details for Commencement Day. You will also practice lining up, processing in, and walking across the stage. Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduates.
Friday, May 8, 2020 | 3:00 PM, HAC Lobby
Join your classmates for the President's Toast to the Class of 2020, followed by the Unveiling of Bricks. This event will begin in the Hunthausen Activity Center (HAC) Lobby and will move to the Alumni Walk near St. Al's. Graduates will also fill their class time capsule. Families and special guests are invited.
Saturday, May 9, 2020 |10:00 AM, Cathedral of St. Helena
Graduates assemble on the south lawn of the Cathedral at 9:30 a.m. In case of inclement weather graduates will line up in the lower level of the Cathedral. Immediately following Mass, you will proceed to the front steps of the Cathedral for a class photograph. Because of limited seating capacity in the Cathedral, admission to Baccalaureate is by ticket only. Each graduate is issued TWO (2) tickets for family members or guests; tickets grant admission to the main level of the Cathedral but do not guarantee a seat since space is extremely limited. Additional seating is set up in the lower level of the Cathedral in the Brondel Center, where the Mass will be simulcast and Communion will be distributed. Doors to the Cathedral open at 8:30 a.m.
Saturday, May 9, 2020 | 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, Campus Center
Commencement Brunch for graduates, families, and guests is offered at the Carroll College dining hall. Tickets are $15 each, with children age 10 and under charged $8 (Graduates are free!). Tickets may be ordered with a credit card online here (link available soon!). Tickets must be purchased online by Friday, May 1st. All tickets will be distributed at cap and gown pick-up. No charge for graduates, but you still need to order your ticket. Purchase tickets online
Saturday, May 9, 2020 | 2:00pm, PE Center
Degree candidates will assemble at 1:30pm. Graduates will assemble in the Great Hall of the Hunthausen Activity Center. Commencement seating is by ticket only. Each graduate is issued EIGHT (8) tickets for family members and guests. Families are encouraged to arrive early to select suitable seats. Doors to the PE Center open at 12:30pm.
Graduation Sunday Mass
Sunday, May 10, 2020 |10:00am, All Saints Chapel
Fr. Marc will lead a special Mass in All Saints Chapel for graduates and their families (and anyone else who wishes to attend). Come gather post-Commencement and worship together!
Helena Photography will be taking a class and individual photographs at graduation. Kevin Hudson, the owner of Helena Photography, will be sending information to graduates and their families about how to order pictures. He can also be contacted via www.helenaphotography.com or (406) 443-1966.
