The graduation committee, in consultation with institutional and local officials, has set the dates, times, and locations for the following graduation events:

Nursing Recognition and Pinning for Class of 2021 
Friday, May 14, 2021
12:00 p.m., Nelson Stadium

Baccalaureate Mass for Class of 2020 and Class of 2021
Friday, May 14, 2021
4:00 p.m., Cathedral of Saint Helena
Maximum of two (2) guests per graduate attending Mass allowed in-person – tickets (FREE and given to grad) required. Pick up tickets at Campus Ministry beginning Wednesday, May 12. Masks will be required inside the Cathedral. Cathedral doors will open for seating at 3:15 p.m. Graduates will assemble vy 3:30 p.m. outside the Cathedral. Class photos will be taken after Baccalaureate.

Six (6) guests per graduate allowed in-person - tickets (FREE and given to grad) required. Commencement will be held outdoors rain or shine; virtual livestream will be available. Stadium doors will open for seating at 9:00 a.m. Graduates will assemble by 9:30 a.m. on the field near Guadalupe Hall.

Class of 2020 and 2021 Commencement Calendar

All information and dates below are subject to change based on current institutional and public health policies and guidelines. 

Ticketing Information

Due to current public health regulations regarding event size and social distancing,  guest tickets will be required for all graduation events, including those held outside. Livestreaming will be an option whenever possible. All Commencement guests tickets are FREE and will be distributed to graduates along with their caps and gowns at the times listed below. Tickets are required for all event attendees ages two and up.

  • Announced 4/1/21 and updated 4/27/21: For the Commencement ceremonies being held in Nelson Stadium on Saturday, May 15, 2021, six (6) guests per graduate will be allowed in person.
  • Announced 4/16/21 and updated 5/7/21: Baccalaureate Mass will be held in person for the Carroll community and up to a maximum of two (2) guests per graduate attending Mass; additional family members and other guests will be able to join via livestream.

Baccalaureate guest tickets can be picked up in the Campus Ministry offices during these same times.

Same pick-up times as listed above - OR -
Class of 2020 grads who arrive in town on Friday may also pick up caps and gowns on Friday, May 14, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. from the Registrar's Office in O'Connell Hall.

Pick up your cap, gown, hood, coordinating Carroll mask (provided to all graduates!), Commencement guest tickets, and name card with line-up number. At this time, you may bring items for the class time capsule. Smaller mementos like your ID cards, name tags, and photos are best because space is limited.

Be sure you have submitted your graduate survey (Class of 2020 survey still open; Class of 2021 survey now open), completed your financial aid exit interview and cleared all bills (parking tickets, library fines, Wellness Center charges, student account payments, etc.) beforehand.

Graduation Rehearsal

Class of 2020 & Class of 2021 - No formal in-person rehearsal will be held this year; a video with information and tips will be distributed during the week leading up to graduation and will be required instead.

A special Mass for graduating students and their families will be held in All Saints Chapel on the Carroll College campus on Sunday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m.

Special Seating Accommodations
Nelson Stadium is able to accommodate guests who might need special seating during the Commencement ceremony, such as wheelchair access or seating on a lower level. The first row of seating across the entire front of the stadium will be designated as Accessible Seating and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
