Faith Community Nursing in the News
Judith Hatch has worked in hospitals, nursing homes and doctors' offices. Most meaningful, though, is being nurse to her congregation. It is her expression of faith: bringing her professional training to a congregation of like-minded folks who believe prayer is just as important as a pill. Faith-community nursing, still a relatively new specialty, is growing here and around the country as nurses seek a more holistic way to practice health care.

The good news of Jesus Christ is communicated through relationships. NCF aims to help nurses discover what it means to know God through a relationship with Jesus Christ and to live out that relationship in nursing, bringing hope to our colleagues and those in our care.
NCF provides a local, regional, national and international network for Christian nursing. Local groups meet for prayer, Bible study, mutual encouragement and outreach. NCF staff and volunteers provide mentoring, vision for ministry and help to establish campus and area-wide chapters. NCF membership enables Christian nurses to officially identify with NCF's vision and goals.

No need to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already put the time and expertise into developing a resource and is willing to share it. Go to www.HMAssoc.org and click on the navigation bar on the left for Organizational Links and Faith Group Links.

This venture of the Weyerhaeuser Center began in response to the fact that there are many small rural churches within a 200-mile radius of Spokane.
