Why Be a Math Major?

Here is a link to the presentation Dr. Cline, Dr. Parker, and I put together to show all the cool things you can do with a math degree. There are links to some useful websites on the last slide.

Look at all of the great activities happening in our department!

Classroom Voting

We are using classroom voting in several classes at Carroll. For our calculus course, we have compiled a set of questions drawn from the Cornell Good Questions Project, the Hughes-Hallett text and accompanying ConcepTests, and some that we have written ourselves. These questions have been correlated with the 4th edition of the Hughes-Hallett calculus text. A version with answers and some commentary is also available if you send me an email requesting it.

I am also working with my colleagues Kelly Cline and Mark Parker to develop classroom voting questions for differential equations and linear algebra. This work is funded by the National Science Foundation (DUE-0536077). More information about this project is available at the Math QUEST site.
