GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS IN THE PHYSICAL SCIENCES

The National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC) offers two fellowship programs: the Traditional NPSC Program and the Dissertation Support Program. The COnsortium comprises leading universities (who provide tuition and fees) and private corporations and governemental research laboratories (who provide stipends and two summers of employment).

The Ecological Society of America

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of scientists. Ecologists study oceans, deserts, forests, cities, grasslands, rivers, and every other corner of the world. More and more, ecologists are teaming with physical scientists, social scientists, policy makers, and computer programmers to understand better how organisms interact with each other and with the environment in which they live. Ecologists can be educators, technicians, field scientists, administrators, consultants, and writers. The main traits all ecologists share are curiosity, creativity, a passion for observation and scientific inquiry, and, judging by these profiles, boundless enthusiasm for asking and answering hard questions.

SCA EARTHVISION CONTEST

The group Students Conserving America is celebrating it's 50 year anniversary. In honor of SCA’s 50^th Anniversary, we are hosting a first-of-its kind national youth in conservation summit EarthVision:  Actions for a Healthy Planet to be held in Washington, D.C.

Taking place on April 24-27, 2008 the Summit will kick off with an opening session in the historic Great Hall of the U.S. Department of the Interior and continue with an afternoon of conservation service projects at places such as Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Rock Creek Park and other local parks.
