Interfolio and ETS have created the My Credentials Vault (SM) service to help streamline the letter of recommendation process for graduate and professional school applicants. When applicants subscribe to the service, they can manage their letters of recommendation in one centralized location – online, anytime.
Writers can submit one general letter for each applicant or multiple letters that are specifically tailored to each application. The workflow is no different than the standard Interfolio process. When their students use the My Credentials Vault service, letter writers can submit their letters in one format without worrying about multiple system and format requirements. The My Credentials Vault service gets letters to the right place and in the right format, whether on paper or electronically.
Why the My Credentials Vault service?
§ Store Letters Until Needed The best letters are those written with the applicants still fresh in the mind of their professor, advisor, or employer. Make sure to advise those undergrads who are even just thinking about graduate school to begin collecting those letters sooner, rather than later. Even if they won't be applying right away, they can request letters now and store them as long as needed in their My Credentials Vault account.
§ Ease the Burden on Faculty Letter writers can access the service at no charge, using any word processing software to write the letter, then submit it electronically or mail hard copies to us directly. Either way, the My Credentials Vault service will navigate the graduate school application landscape and make sure the right letters get to the right places in the right way. Keep recommenders focused on writing a good letter - we will handle the details.
§ Giving Peace of Mind to the Applicant We have quality initiatives in place to make sure everything goes smoothly. Dedicated customer support is on hand to answer questions from applicants as well as writers, and receiving destinations. We make sure letters have converted to PDF properly before they are sent out for the first time. We also send letter packets in whatever format is requested.
