Testing Services


Most of the major examinations required for admission into graduate school and selected professional certification are administered on campus.

See the Carroll College calendar for the dates that nationally scheduled exams are offered on Carroll's campus, or access the website for the specific exam in which you are interested (see below for test company website information).

Also, see the links below for information on how to prepare for national standardized exams. Most of the websites for specific exams offer prepartation materials, and there are some other sites listed below that offer study assistance.

Information on an Exam (Including Study Resources)

ASSET

ASSET is a placement exam developed by American College Testing (ACT) and helps the school use its educational resources more efficiently by providing accurate information about your current knowledge and skills. Please register directly with Career and Testing Services at 406-447-5532 or 406-447-5530. We schedule the exam at your convenience for a week day during regular business hours. Search the ASSET website for more information about ASSET including study materials.

CLEP

CLEP enables students to receive college credit for what they already know, allows them to bypass introductory courses, or fulfill Carroll College Core Curriculum (CORE) or major and program requirements. CLEP is an efficient and inexpensive way to further your education. You may arrange a test day and time directly with Career and Testing Services at 406-447-5532; tests are given any week day. Search the CLEP website for more information about CLEP, including study materials.

GRE

Carroll offers the paper-based GRE Subject Exam two times a year, according to the national schedule. The General GRE exam is provided locally by Sylvan Learning Center/Prometric Testing Center at 406-443-9205, or examinees can register directly through the GRE website, which has a plethora of valuable study materials to help prepare for the exam.

GMAT

The GMAT exam is for MBA programs and other graduate programs in the business arena. This site provides extensive information helpful to applicants about MBA programs as well as the GMAT exam.

LSAT

Carroll offers the LSAT Subject Exam two times a year, according to the national schedule.

LSAC

The Law School Admission Council is the official organization that processes all law school applications for the participating law schools in the country. This site also contains a lot of helpful information on choosing and financing law school.

PRAXIS

Carroll offers the PRAXIS Exams several times a year, according to the national schedule.

TOEFL

Test of English as a Foreign Language. Carroll offers the TOEFL exam twice a year according to the national schedule. This year the dates are January 17 and May 9, 2009. Please register through the TOEFL website. 

ACT


Carroll offers the ACT Exams several times a year, according to the national schedule.Please register through the ACT website or through your high school Career Center.

SAT

Carroll offers the SAT Exams several times a year, according to the national schedule.Please register through the SAT website or through your high school Career Center.

CFA

Carroll offers the CFA Exams on the first Saturday of June. Please register through the CFA website.

PES

Carroll offers various exams sponsored by PES throughout the year, according to the national schedule.

CASTLE

CASTLE offers  excellence in the delivery of high-stakes professional certification exams.

WORLD AT WORK

WorldatWork administers the exams required for attaining the prestigious Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), the Certified Benefits Professional CBP), Global Remuneration Professional  (GRP) and the new Work-Life Certified Professional (WLCP) designations.

MCAT

The MCAT Subject Exam is given only as a computer-based exam. To register, please see the MCT website.



MAT


The Miller Analogy Test  is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. Some graduate programs accept this exam in lieu of the GRE.

Exam Application Materials

Paper applications for all major examinations are available in the foyer of the Career & Testing Services department. Most examinations also allow online registration (see information on this page for access to test company websites).
